Everything You Need to Know Before You Travel
If you're planning a trip to Nepal, getting your visa is simple. Most visitors can obtain a visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or various land borders with India and Tibet.
SAARC nationals get a free visa for up to 30 days (excluding Afghanistan). Indian citizens do not need a visa but must carry valid ID if entering by air.
If you're stopping over or your flight lands unexpectedly, you can get a 1-day transit visa for USD 5 or equivalent.
